Frank Porté completed an intense weekend at the Zandvoort circuit, host to a new Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux meeting. The event was marked by both the driver's strong pace and some setbacks that ultimately prevented him from fighting for podium positions.
The activity began days before with a test session prior to the race. There, the team focused much of its work on finalizing setup adjustments and finding the best possible performance for the Andorran to tackle the particular characteristics of the Dutch track. All this took place under unusual weather conditions for Zandvoort, with temperatures close to 25 degrees.
From the first free practice sessions, Porté demonstrated he had the speed to be among the frontrunners. Despite having to manage problems with tire behavior, a circumstance that forced him to work with a different strategy compared to many rivals, the Andorran was able to set the best time in the first free session, sending a clear message about the potential he could show during the weekend. Unfortunately, however, qualifying did not fully reflect this pace.

In the first timed session, a red flag appeared just as Porté was completing his fast lap, which seriously compromised his starting position for the first race. In contrast, in the second qualifying round, the driver achieved a meritorious fourth position, just five hundredths of a second behind second place, a minimal difference that demonstrated the enormous equality in the category.
In the first race, Porté had a great start, although the first meters proved especially complicated after being pushed towards the wall while fighting for position. This action forced him to lift off and caused him to lose ground. Despite this, the driver managed to react and regained positions, entering the fight for the podium until almost the last lap. However, the characteristics of the Zandvoort track, known for the difficulty it presents when overtaking, ultimately prevented the Andorran from completing the comeback.
The second race followed a similar script. Porté, starting from fifth position, again stood out at the start, even pulling alongside the third-placed driver on the first corners.
The race remained very close, with several direct battles and very little margin between the leading drivers. Finally, after another solid and competitive performance, the driver again crossed the checkered flag in fourth position.
Despite not being able to convert the pace shown throughout the weekend into a podium finish, the Dutch event has left very positive feelings for Porté and his team, especially for the competitive level exhibited on one of the most technical and demanding circuits on the calendar.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux will now face a one-month break before resuming activity at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, which will be a new opportunity for the driver to continue consolidating his position among the most prominent names in the championship.
