Joan Vinyes once again made it clear that he remains one of the prominent names in hill climb racing, after completing a very notable performance at the 21st edition of the Pujada a la Trona, a scoring event for the Catalan hill climb calendar.
The Andorran driver repeated the gamble he had already made at the beginning of the season at the Ral·li Sant Julià, once again getting behind the wheel of the legendary Seat Ibiza Kit Car prepared by Baporo Motorsport, a vehicle with more than three decades of history, but which continues to demonstrate surprising competitiveness when it falls into the hands of a driver of Vinyes' caliber.
The race, held between Masies de Voltregà and Sant Boi de Lluçanès along a 5.744-kilometer course, demanded maximum precision and concentration given the fast and technical nature of the route.

In this regard, Vinyes did not take long to show his pace. From the official practice sessions, he was already among the fastest drivers in the Touring Car category, subsequently confirming the good sensations in both race climbs.
In fact, the Andorran driver even closely pressured Josep Maria Soler's Skoda Fabia, fighting until the end for second place overall in Touring Cars. Finally, Vinyes completed the race with a meritorious third place overall and a second place in class 4, in a performance that once again demonstrates both the driving level of the Principality's driver and the competitive validity of one of the most emblematic cars in Spanish motorsports.

With practically no time to rest, the Vinyes Dabad team will now face a particularly demanding weekend on the occasion of the Pujada Arinsal, an event that will kick off the Andorran Hill Climb Championship.
Vinyes will compete in the event with a double program: on Saturday he will compete with his spectacular barchetta, while on Sunday he will get behind the wheel of the BMW to face the second day of competition.
The Andorran team will also feature the presence of Joan Vinyes Jr, who will officially debut in the hill climb discipline driving a Cupra León. The young driver, a regular this season in the Toyota GR Cup Spain, will thus experience his first official experience in this specialty.
