Gerard de la Casa has wrapped up the season of the Andorran Mountain Automotive Championship (CAAM) with the title of group 4 of Touring Cars. The Andorran driver secured the championship this past weekend after the last event of the contest, the Pujada a Beixalís.
The driver from Gedith Center has been the dominant force in his category throughout the season. In addition to the title in his category, Gerard de la Casa (Ford Fiesta Baporo Motorsport) finished third in the absolute CAAM ranking, with 91 points. Ahead of him finished Jordi Vilardell, absolute champion with 104 points, and Joan Gil, second with 101.

The Pujada a Beixalís marked the end of a particularly demanding championship, which also offered spectators an interesting duel between the Andorran and Mikel Azcona. The Basque driver, two-time European champion and world champion of Touring Cars, participated in the Andorran event before traveling to South Korea for another international race.
The duel between Azcona's Hyundai TCR and De la Casa's Baporo Motorsport Ford Fiesta kept the suspense throughout the day. The differences were minimal in each of the climbs, so that after summing the two best times, only 37 hundredths separated the two drivers.
In the end, the victory at Beixalís went to Joan Gil, with a total time of 3:11.880. Azcona finished second with 3:17.850, while De la Casa completed the podium with 3:18.220.
With this result, Gerard de la Casa concludes a very solid season in the national mountain series. The Group 4 title confirms his dominance among the touring cars, while the third absolute position also highlights his ability to compete at the top of a ranking where prototypes and small cars have had a significant presence.
